Holes the book compared to the movie

Uncategorized 12 Comments »

I think that the movie was better. It showed us more so we could understand it. We also were able to see like how it happened because it the book it said one of the guys stepped on a rattlesnake but they showed more in the movie then they described in the book.

I thought that the movie showed more of how everyone treated Stanley. I would say that it mainly depends on what you find easier to understand.

Whats your opinon? Movie or book first?

Lost – Part 3

They slowly opened the door and went in. There was a horrible stench and they turned to corner. There, lying on the ground, was Louise. The officer looked closely at her wounds.
He went back the car and took out a big body bag. They closed her up in it and put her on the back seat of the car. They drove to the lab where they would get tests done and how she was killed and hopefully who did it.
Tony had to wait a few weeks for the results but in the meantime he made arrangements to have a funeral.
On the 5th Saturday after the incident he finally got the results. He pulled out a yellow, old looking letter from his old mail box and opened it slowly. It read…
We are sorry for your lose. We have gotten the results from your wife. She was stabbed lots of time and then shot. We believe we have the murderer in jail. He will be going to court this week and you are invited.
Sincerely
Police.
He read this letter over and over again. He was upset but also glad they had hopefully found the killer.
Tony got to go see his wife one more time before the sad funeral. She was to be buried in her favourite spot, the park where they got married.
It was a sad funeral and Tony was very emotional because of all the memories that were flooding through his busy mind. He’d never forget that night, the night that was supposed to be fun, the night where he and his wife could just relax and relieve their minds from any stress. Sadly it was the night that they were separated for ever. The night his loving wife was murdered. This, he would never forget.

Lost – Part 2

Tony was starting to worry, she had been gone for about 10 minutes and it was getting close to 1. He decided to go find her. He went and quickly bought a cold, refreshing drink of Coke and walked down the long corridor towards the bathrooms.
He knocked on the door but there was no reply. He knocked again and again but still nothing. He started to get worried. He felt sick in his stomach as he feared something terrible had happened.
He slowly opened the door and it creaked. He jumped. As he walked further in he saw blood spatters all over the ground.

He turned the corner and there lying on the ground was Louise. He was so scared. He walked backwards slowly trying to take in what he has just seen but it was all too much for him. He got out of the bathroom and ran, as fast as he could, as far as he could. He ran out of the place and across the street narrowly avoiding cars, trucks, bikes and people.

He ran to the brightly lighted police station and banged on the door. He didn’t know what else to do. The old door opened and a police officer appeared. He was a bit chubby, had a short beard and had a chocolate donut in his hand.

“Yeah?” he asked
“M-m-my wife… She’s dead… I found her… in the bathroom at the disco…” he stammered.
“You say she’s dead?”
“That’s right”
“Lead us to where it happened” replied the officer.
They wondered across the street to the disco and tried opening the door but it was jammed. They turned the rusty door knob again and it fell off.
They were stuck unless they could think of a plan.
“Let’s kick the door down” suggested the officer.
The officer took a few long steps back and started his run-up. He lifted his leg as high as he could and the door went CRASH! It fell to the ground and a pile of dust lifted from the ground.

It was a dark, cloudy, foggy night as a young man and his wife got into the new car. They were off to a disco for which their love would be ended forever.
As they pulled up to the dark car park they both heard an ear-piecing scream. They thought nothing of it and thought it was part of the disco. While walking to the entrance they saw a shadow fly by. Startled by this the girl, Louise, started shaking. They got to the door and saw a man dressed in a black reaper suit. The man, Tony, handed him the 5 dollar bill and they walked into the room.

As they hit the dance floor the DJ put on their favourite song so they started dancing the fast beat. They were having a lot of fun.
As midnight struck, both were having a ball. Louise pulled Tony to the side and told him she was just going to use the bathroom.

As she walked out of the room, down the long corridor, she heard the sound of someone running past and the shadow going past. She got a bit spooked but kept on going. She reached the bathroom door and she was scared when she saw her name written in blood.
She had second thoughts about actually going in but she did. The air was cold and her spine tingled.

After she finished as she was washing her hands she happened to look into the cracked mirror and saw the most frightening thing. She saw a man who wore a black mask over his face; He was wearing a black shirt, showing his muscles. She tried to scream but nothing came out. She turned around and he had pulled out a knife….

November Book Review – Beast Quest Stealth The Ghost Panther

Uncategorized 2 Comments »

Beast Quest Stealth The Ghost Panther written by Adam Blade. was a great book! It is about a boy called Tom who goes around fighting beasts set out by an evil wizard called Malvel to try and stop him.

Tom, his horse Storm, his friend Elenna and her wolf Silver also have another mission. Tom’s dad has disappeared and to get him back he has to fight all the 6 beasts for an amulet piece. All 6 will reward him with his Dad.

Tom has to travel to get to this beast and he has to face problems along the way but the biggest problem is when he finally meets this beast. It can disappear since its ghost. This make it really hard.

Beast Quest

My favourite part of the book was when he found out how he could kill it.

This was a very good book, mainly for people who like adventure. I would say this book is for people 7 – 14.

Mary MacKillop

Early Life…

Mary Mackillop was born in Fitzroy, Victoria in 1842. 6  weeks later she was baptised and she received the the name Maria Ellen. Mary was the oldest child out of 8 siblings! She was schooled at private schools and by her father who was Alexander. At the age of 14 she started working as a clerk in Melbourne and then as a teacher in Portland. She later opened up a boarding school. Sadly, she died on the 8th of August 1909 in Sydney aged just 67.

Starting the school…

In 1866 Father Woods invited Mary and her sisters to come to Penola and open a Catholic school. After renovations, more than 50 children were taught there. At this time Mary made a dedication to God and wore black.

Canonisation…

On 17 of October Mary was canonised and that made her Australia’s first saint. In the week leading up to her canonisation the Australian Federal Government announced it was going to protect the use of her name for commercial purposes.

The only other person to have this done was famous cricketer, Sir Donald Bradman.

Mackillop’s miracles…

Mary was known to have done 2 miracles. One of them was to have helped cured someone of leukemia. That lady ended up having 5 babies in a decade!

She was also known to have helped cure a lady with inoperable lung cancer.
